What Noo is

Noo is for sharing with the people close to you (your circles, end-to-end encrypted) and with people nearby (places: your building, your club, local shops, which are not end-to-end encrypted). Noo is published by Noo, joinnoo.com, France. Contact: privacy@joinnoo.com.

Noo is free, has no ads, and nobody can pay to be seen more.

Who can use it

Noo is for people 15 and over. An account is personal.

What's not allowed

Anywhere on Noo, in a circle or a place:

Block and report

You can block someone from their name in a circle, a post's menu or the members list. They aren't told. Their posts are hidden on your phones, and they can't invite you or ask to join your places.

You can report a post, a person or a place post. Noo can't read your circles: when you report a circle post, your phone sends its own copy of that post (the words, and a small photo only if you choose) to the publisher. Without an account: /report.

What the publisher can do

A person reads every report. They can:

A removed post leaves the server at once, and phones at their next sync. A phone that never syncs again keeps its copy. Copies someone saved or screenshotted stay theirs.

Every decision about you is explained in the app (the You tab): what was done, why (the law or these terms) and when. It never says who reported you. The person who reported sees "We removed it" or "No action".

Appealing a decision

Write to privacy@joinnoo.com within 6 months. A person looks again, and you get an answer. You can also go to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body, or a court.

What you post

What you post stays yours. You let Noo store it and deliver it to the people you chose, nothing more. You can delete it at any time.

Ending

You can delete your account in the app (You › Delete my account and data) or without a phone at /delete-account. The publisher may suspend an account that breaks these terms, with an explanation.

Liability and law

Noo is provided as is, during a test, by one person. We do our best to keep it working and safe, without guarantees. These terms are governed by French law. Changes: announced in the app 30 days ahead.
