How Home ranks
Article 4 as amended on 29 October 2026: what you scroll and how it is ranked are your choice, named on screen, and never learned from what you do. Home is one scroll of posts from your circles and places, one row down from the circle list. Its order follows the rule you pick in Feed settings (Home › Feed settings, or You › Feed settings), saved on the phone only:
| Rule | Order | Why says |
|---|---|---|
| Latest (the default) | Newest first. Nothing ranked | "Home is set to Latest: newest first, nothing ranked." |
| People first | Your circles, then spaces, then shops you follow; newest first in each | "…posts from your circles, like Family, come before places." |
| My circles in my order | Circles in the order you dragged them, then circles you didn't drag (by name), then places | "…Climbing friends is number 1 in your order." |
| Mix | Today's For you formula below, with S, I and P on three sliders (0–100, defaults 50, 20, 20; L is 0 because Home has no Nearby) | "…closeness 50, interests 20, reactions 20.", then the formula's own reasons |
- What's in Home: every circle and place, until you switch one off in Feed settings. Ranking orders, it never hides: in Mix, a post the formula scores 0 (a slider at 0, Not interested, an event that started) comes after the others, newest first, and its Why says so.
- Places follows the same rule, on your places' posts only, and shows the rule at its top.
- Named everywhere: the rule is at the top of Home ("Sorted by Mix. …") and is the first line of every Why.
- Endless, with a marker: you may scroll as long as you like. You've seen everything new sits after the last post this phone hasn't shown yet; older posts follow in the same order. The marker is the only thing that reads the seen state.
- No learning: the order's only inputs are the posts, the clock and your choices (
HomeInput: now, Feed settings, the preferences you set, time zone). There is no seen state in the ranking at all: Family first goes by the last 48 h and a pinned notice stays up while it is pinned.HomeNoLearningTests(iPhone) andHomeNoLearningTest(Android) audit the inputs and replay random sessions (views, taps, seconds per post, how far you scrolled): the order never changes, in Home or in Places.
